From the South Street Seaport in Manhattan to the East End of Long Island, St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY) hosted an array of alumni events this month. From August 2-9, SJNY alumni spanning decades from both the Long Island and Brooklyn campuses had the opportunity to reconnect and network while enjoying the food, art, culture and activities that New York City and Long Island have to offer.
SJNY Baseball Night at Long Island Ducks
On Saturday, Aug. 2, SJNY alumni and their families cheered on the Long Island Ducks, a local minor league baseball team, as they faced off against the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars. Discounted tickets to the game at Fairfield Properties Ballpark included reserved seating and “Duck Bills” for use at the concession stand and souvenir shop. It being a night of team spirit, St. Joseph’s attendees wore their SJNY gear. As a special treat, the SJNY Sharps, the Long Island campus a capella group, performed during the seventh inning stretch.

Delisle, Jr. ’94, MBA, who will be honored with the President’s Esse Non Videri award during this year’s annual SJNY gala in October. Upcoming Events in Brooklyn and Long Island
There are more alumni-centered events to look forward to in the fall. On Saturday, Sept. 13, SJNY will host a Child Study and Adolescence Education Alumni Reunion on the Brooklyn Campus. Alumni and children are welcome to enjoy family-friendly activities as they catch up with classmates and faculty and relive the excitement of starting the fall semester. On the Long Island Campus, SJNY will host its annual Golden Eagle Spirit Fest on Saturday, Sept. 27. The all-day event will kick off with a women’s volleyball game in the Danzi Athletic Center Gymnasium and move to the outdoor field complex for an alumnae softball game, men’s and women’s alumni soccer games, an alumni baseball game and the Blue and Gold tailgate barbecue, which will offer food and refreshments.
