With less than 100 days until its 107th annual commencement ceremony, St. Joseph’s University, New York, is preparing for the milestone event, and graduates have several key steps and celebrations to keep in mind.
The Brooklyn and Long Island campuses will honor the Class of 2026 on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Nassau Coliseum.
Important Dates:
As Commencement approaches, students and their families should take note of the following key dates and deadlines:
- April 3: Deadline to apply for Graduation
- April 24: Deadline to order your Academic Attire
- May 13: Toast to the Graduates — Brooklyn
- May 14: Toast to the Graduates — Long Island
- May 19: Commencement Ceremony — Nassau Coliseum
Reminders for Graduates:
Graduates are encouraged to order their academic attire before the April 24th deadline, as caps and gowns will not be provided the day of the ceremony. Please see the MYSJNY Graduation Page for ordering information.
Each graduate will receive 10 tickets for loved ones to attend the ceremony; a livestream option will be also available on the University’s commencement page.
For those who need accommodations, Nassau Coliseum provides early access and clearly labeled sections for accessible seating. Coliseum staff will also be available for assistance on the day of the ceremony. For graduates who require accommodations for themselves, please contact Student Life.

Countdown to Commencement:
Leading up to the big day, the Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement on both campuses will be hosting their “Countdown to Commencement” event series.
Each month features a different event, such as Grad Appreciation — Food on the Go, Senior Service Day and a commencement expo, culminating in the University’s annual Toast to the Graduates on May 13th for the Brooklyn campus and May 14th for the Long Island campus.
