That dreaded time of year is almost here: finals week. But that doesn’t have to mean you turn into a stress-induced ball of anxiety. Follow these five tips to help you relax before your tests.
1. Meditate

Set aside 10 minutes a day to clear your head and relieve your stress by meditating. Not sure how? The Long Island and Brooklyn Campuses offer meditation sessions through Counseling and Wellness Services.
2. Treat Yourself

For each completed study session, treat yourself to something you love. Whether it’s two episodes of whatever show you’re currently binging on Disney+, a breakfast sandwich from your favorite bagel place, a coffee or all three together, take a much-deserved break and enjoy ~a few of your favorite things.~
3. Don’t Forget Self-Care

Exercise. Eat a full meal. Take a bubble bath. Get eight hours of sleep. Whatever you do, don’t forget to take care of your mental and physical health while preparing for finals.
4. Read Some Positive Affirmations

You ARE smart and you CAN handle this. Read some positive affirmations to remind yourself how awesome you are, and fearlessly go take those finals.
5. Pet a Puppy

It’s scientifically proven that dogs help lower your heart rate and blood pressure, thus helping you relax. If you don’t have your own pup to cuddle, hang out with a friend’s. Or just watch videos of dogs on YouTube.
